Well it should be - whether you can, can't, should or would use them, "illegally" or not.

It will be for "SINGLED OUT" by VIRGINIA NICHOLSON worth £4.50 and valid until 30th June.

    Barcode is 9914000474505

Thanks! I actually had planned to get this from the library, but may just buy it now. Can I use the coupon in WHSmith or Waterstones?

Many thanks, Q & welcome back, hope you had good hols!

I reckon it's worth trying this at least over the weekend, because I reckon it'll be Monday at the earliest before HQ get around to blocking the voucher through the tills - they'll not do it over the weekend, unless someone proves me wrong tomorrow! (or today come to that!)

    Race ya?

(But then of course there is the argument that we shouldn't really be using them in T's, but I feel marginally better about these over the ones that specifically say Asda or Sainsbury's on them)

Do they have to register the barcodes individually?

    I don't.

Both are unacceptable but each DM book token rips Tesco off by £4.50, not much different than giving them a forged fiver IMHO. Let's all stick to other coupons, what's wrong with the Instyle & Uncut printables on the printable coupons sticky? They are OK - as are many more on there.

I don't miss the DM book token. The ones I want more of are the Sun/Morrisons fivers which are SUPERB in Tesco and have forced some stores to realise that 'spend & saves' don't just come from Sainsburys.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

There have been Daily Mails left over on DM book coupon days in my local store for in excess of 6 months now, where as before you would count yourself lucky to find a copy left by lunchtime. They were outlawed last Septmeber/October with a picture of them on every till making it clear to sa's that they were NOT to be accepted. They were great for a while, but I am long since used to not being able to use them..... and knowing Tesco can't redeem them, I really don't have a problem with that.

For those who actually use the DM vouchers to buy the book: If the book is on sale in the store, can you still use the voucher to get 4.50 off the sale price? The small print says it can't be used in conjunction with any other offer or discount. The regular price is 8.99, meaning the coupon would make it 4.49 if deducted from the full price. The book costs about 4.50 at both Amazon and Waterstones online, meaning the coupon isn't offering a better deal than you can find elsewhere. I suppose it's good if you weren't going to order enough to get free shipping, but we order from Amazon all the time and can easily spend 15 quid there, so it seems pointless to use a coupon unless it makes the book cheaper than the 4.50 I'd pay at Amazon.
