Hsbc Fixed Rate

Hi, first post!! just looking for help or advise. Im in a 5 year fixed mortgage with HSBC. I want to know if there would be any charges or if it is at all possible to get out of this. I want to take another one out with them but on a longer period but different sort of rate as I have plus account with them. Basically I was ill advised at the bank and would welcome any info anyone has. Thank you

They will charge you if you wish to come out of it, I believe either 3% or 2% which reduces daily as time goes on. There isn't a way of getting around this sadly!

Thanks Andy I wasnt sure if there was anyway out. Even if i borrow more I wont be able to change? Well I have a plus account with them that gives me a better rate and being in early 20's i could have took it over 30 years but she advised 25. I normally deal with someone I got to know but she away and had to get it moving. Thanks for reply though, much appreciated0

I don't see that you were mis-advised. The shorter the term the less interest you pay.
You could borrow more but this would be a seperate product (Home Owner loan) at a different rate.0
