What Was It!!!

Got home moday from a weekend away to find a note from the postman, packet left in green bin, ran out to look only to realise my neighbours had put the bins out for us and they had been emptied first thing. He had not filled any details in so impossible to trace it back, I am so cross have filled in a complaints form but as we dont know what was in it not holding out much hope. Does anyone have any advice.

sorry meant to post in competitions and dont know how to move it. thanks for being so understanding!
may be worth posting on ebay board, there are a few postmen on there and the sellers are really used to dealing with royal mail, so although 'wrong' place techically, they will have a better idea that most. Although, I would call royal mail direct first to see what they suggest :)

Dont know if this helps , but the only thing postie has ever left outside for me was a moving box thingy from the freebies section that arrived tuesday i think.

Just wondered if you applied for this ?

Hope you don't get a £100 fine for putting not green waste in your green bin!

I would complain to the post office, say that when you got home, you had that card but the bin men had already been - see what they say!! The postman needs to know not to do that again.

    Oh, how infuriating!!!!!

I've heard of this happen on the ebay board when I used to go on it (before I found this one and barely ever go back!!!)

I think if it was something that was worth a lot it would have needed a signature, so hopefully it wasn't overly valuable, I could be wrong, but just trying to make you feel a bit better!

The only thing I haev had recently too big to go through the letterbox was a jute bag, two of them arrived on different days and I think people are still receiving them, could it be that??

What absolute rotten luck, hope they give you compensation more than the prize was worth xxxx

P.S - When it gets to the green waste end do you think perhaps someone who empties it might come across a brown envelope and pull it out and may possibly send it back??? You never know!

I hope you get a positive result.
My Postie (never the same Postie as we always have different ones) does the same thing to me quite often.
I've even had a Recorded Delivery 'Fragile' package (turned out to be a signed record) left UNDER THE DOORMAT!!
