play.com have currently got the toshiba hd-ep30 back on offer at £49.99 with 2 free films(100 and bourne supremecy) before the war starts out, i know the format is dead, but i brought one of these when they was on offer a few months back, they are great machines, brilliant upscalers(which is why i brought it), and you can get cheap hd dvd`s for it, sometimes even cheaper than the equivalent standard dvd  , so if anybody wanting a cheap way of getting hd this is the machine for you, i am going to wait a few years b4 even considering blue-ray, incidentally the first link i have put up does not have a buy it button on the page, if you click this link, the buy it button is there, play have had a change around since i last used it, HTH Dave
Take every day as it comes!!

If anyone is seeking cheap HD-DVDs to add to their collection, it's worth looking at DVD World USA - they charge prices including customs (if you get charged, they'll refund it) and offer 5% discount for paying by bank transfer rather than card (plus discounts on postage for buying three items or more).0

I must admit I quite like the look of these Toshiba players, and there have been some cheap prices flying around, but when I've checked the spec of them none seem to be DivX compatible, and although some of the Tosh players have USB ports, they don't have the facility to play files from external storage - they are there for connection of "accessories", whatever they may be.
Can anybody with one confirm or deny? It puts me off them to tell the truth.

the one this thread is about is not divx compatable, but there was a rumour that there will be a download at some point in the future that will make them divx compatable, how true that is i dont know, it certainly is a good machine though, worth it just for the upscaler, but throw in the cheap hd dvd`s as well, and there is only one winnerTake every day as it comes!!0
