Please beware of this peeps, although it may be genuine it looks like a self referrer due to lack of posts and 'illegal' link in signature.

I would be grateful for any details of data entry at home or any other money making schemes that anyone can suggest! As a single mum with a few debts things are a bit tight! I currently work full time but really need to earn some extra cash, it means though that I'm a bit restricted with time for doing things, basically in the evenings and from home is all the extra time I can put in to extra earning. Any suggestions very welcome!

This may be completely naive & dumb... but anyway from my search I found this:

    -link edited by OP--

I enquired & I was sent the following letter:

Thank you for responding to our advert I have enclosed below some more information about theFull or Part Time HomeBased Data Entry position.
Please note this is a legitimate Home Based Self Employed job vacancy working for a Global Companyand not a Recruitment Agency.
You will be paid according to what projects you are working on and how much you require carrying them out per hour. As we are unable to interview yourself and verify that you are a valid candidate for the position. We ask that you pay a one off registration fee of £15 of which you earn back from carrying out your first job/assignment. The information we will send you instructions on how you get started .You are able to get the fee back plus a lot more from your very first project and you can get involved with as many as you require.
The Data Entry position requires you to be well versed of Microsoft Office Suite. Please note there is no copying and pasting of adverts.
When you receive your logon information you may begin that very same day or evening as it is global company site and live jobs are being updated all the time.

I will presume that the fact that they want me to paypal them £15 makes it illegitimate. However, if this is 'normal' then would someone please let me know? My momma always taught me that if they want money from you, it's a scam. Oh well.

dont pay it. You should never have to pay any money up front.

Nah, I wasn't going to... I just thought there was an off chance that it was normal, so I wanted to ask. You probably earn money by placing ads that people must respond to & send £15... typical pyramid scheme.

My wife did data entry from home for a firm in Derby.
It was price work " so you can earn as much as you want". Its pricework cause if they paid you hourly it works out at about £1.50 an hour (loads below min wage). She spent hours trying to get the data programs working. ( these were always crashing as they are very cheaply done, they don't care your on price work) and she had to collect and return the data so all in all after working for hours and hours she earnt a couple of quid more than the petrol costs.
if you need a recommendation here is her's
" Data entry work from home is a waste of time and would not recommend it to anyone"

There are genuine 'data entry' jobs as I do one of them. I am the only person to do it within the company (and will therefore not be posting any info) and get paid £8.50 an hour. The work is on a sporadic basis and requires inputting data so a database can be built and used.

I work in the middle of the night so I can look after the children during the day - it is definitely not something you can do with kids around as the client requires accuracy and quickness.

Suggest that you source local companies (esp. marketing companies) and approach them direct to see if they have any ad-hoc projects to start you off.
