  • Just a note about MBNA, watch out if you're a homeowner with some equity.....as per my agreement with them I've been making regular payments of £28 a month for my cc debt of £10,500. They've now decided that's not enough and whacked me with a CCJ and a charging order on my share of the house.
  • MBNA are a nightmare we have constant calls from India, start in the morning right through to night, after discussion they agreed to stop the calls for 2 days - how kind of them!!

    Hi, Dave
Have you had any luck opening up a new bank account? As you know we are in the same situation regarding Mint and Natwest. We went to the Co-op today to try and open a basic bank account and we were told it had been "referred" and we would recieve a letter in the post confirming whether we had been accepted.Doesnt sound too promising does it?Has this happened to anyone else?

No,we havent closed it yet as we have got DDs going out in the next few days and we dont want to be left with no bank account if the Co-op decline our application which i feel certain they will. What to do next?I havent got a clue.

No,but i have a credit card and overdraft with them which is in my CCCS dmp so its probably worse than Natwest ,as i owe them a lot more than what we do mint,my partner is the same with a credit card and o/d from his original bank.It has proved really difficult trying to find a bank not linked to any of our creditors, cos so many banks are linked arent they.?
  • Hi Leela we are starting a dmp with cccs in january and applied for a step account and have been referred also...............been waiting a week ! They said we should get to know tomorrow, however bit worried now they are part of royal bank of scotland which is halifax and I have a cc debt with halifax !

    Hi,Charley,
Halifax is not part of the Royal Bank Of Scotland,so you dont need to worry there.I think youre getting confused with HBOS(Halifax Bank Of Scotland).I havent heard anything from the Co-op yet and its been nearly a week. :(
