holiday in Crail
Hi Folks
We have just booked our 2 week holiday in sauchope park in Crail:j, really looking forward to it - east neuk being a fav childhood haunt. We know about chippies and fishing villages around but looking for good places to go, eating places, parks etc, we have DS7, and DD4.
Any ideas/ suggestions ?

The Scottish Deer Centre is well worth a visit, great outdoor play areas as well as indoor ones along with loads of deer of course

I love Lower Largo and especially the Crusoe Hotel for a meal.0 -

cos I had to Google to find sauchope.
Dundee is worth a day trip - I live here! Discovery the ship at the riverside, turn left after the brdige, you can't miss it. Sensation science centre good for all ages, but it might be a wee bit over a 4yo's head. Very hands on,though!
Craigtoun park is good value, take a picnic and go for the day - the wee train and the boating pond are good for your kids ages.

You could do a day trip out to the isle of May, I am not sure which harbour the trips are from but I seem to recall one going from Crail and another from Anstruther.
The fishermans museum in Anstruther is good for information on the history of the East Neuk and with the fish bar just a few doors down and views out over the harbour thats another day sorted.
St Andrews has the castle and cathedral for history as well as the Old Course and the university and there is also the sea life centre and the botanic gardens.
Further inland there is Falkland Palace and Kellie Castle with their fine gardens and you could drop in at Kingskettle, home to 'The Singing Kettle'
Sorry cant be of more help with things for youngsters.0 -
thanks for the replies, never thought of the ship and not too far away. Might send them over to the Isle of May - my sea legs left me a couple of years ago!
