I know some of you have missed this and the offer is still open. There are two books up for grabs at www.the-end.com The prophesied end time and 2008 gods final witness. They aren't quick reads either!:A

Sent off for this first time round. Arrived today. Something to read on the train in the mornings.0

These free books are religious parafinalia (spelling?..lol) by Ronald Weinland of Gods church......
They are interesting reads if you are interested in their religeous beliefs with regards to the end of the world which they believe we are currently living though....
If not interested in hardcore religeous beliefs, then save a bit of a tree and don't order a free book just because its free....:rotfl: There, Ive done my bit for the planet today....:rotfl:
If you are interested....then its a fab freebie....:T"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass....it's about learning how to dance in the rain"0 -
If you really want to save a tree, plant some like I've always done and still do. As the books are already printed it'd be a shame not to order one if wanted and save it just ending up in a landfill. It's not like they're going to rush out and fell a tree for every user asking for a free book, the past has already happened, the books are already printed, the trees are already cut and the paper stock already made whether you take one or not. Either you make good use of that tree's sacrifice or just let it go to total waste, that's the present reality. You might slightly effect the future, but I doubt it. Buy secondhand books, support your local charity shops they have plenty and help someone out at the same time. And like I said plant a tree or two, will probably make more of a future difference.

Please keep the site nice, clean and secular.
We dont want religious tub thumping or proselytising on here.
The site is about money saving and not advertising bronze age biblical myths.
Keep trying.........................what else is there to do?

I agree, cwp500. Belief comes from with-in and bible thumping is just not
needed. Especially not on a money saving site.0 -

I understand where you are comming from here, I really do. However, I dissagree and see things slightly differently. We are all entitled to, and I still respect your opionion.
The thing is, this is a religious organisation, therefore, they will not have put a certain amount of books into print and when they are gone, thats the end of the offer. They will however, put more books into print when the ones they have are snapped up by "freebie hunters" who, due to the subject might never read them.
Their aim is to get their message out there to the masses....therefore, they will just continue to print futher copies to meet demand, if that demand is there.
Another option of course is to download the book, which they also offer on the site, and is also free.........they only want their message out there.
Every little counts after all, thats the only reason I mentioned it....Im not an eco warrior or anything....its just that I know a lot of people sign up to every freebie (I know not everyone!) and thought it was worth a mention of the site as to what it was about as the original offer was posted like it was some kind of novel or non-fiction and not that its the equivelant of the annoying leaflets you get thrust into your hand in the street by extremists....but in a book!
Just my opinion, it has its place, it is indeed a freebie. But not the place for religeous propaganda........."Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass....it's about learning how to dance in the rain"0 -
I agree with the save the tree idea, but, personally, and this is probably quite nasty, I want them to spend the money doing it!
It's religious propaganda, and I'd rather have it come to me, someone who will read it, but know (i.e. believes that it's all nonsense, and doesn't want to get into an argument about it, here) that it's all nonsense, rather than having it going into the schools, etc
WON: £10 book token * Heroes Season 1 Boxset DVD * Another £10 book token * Two books -- one awful, one probably the best I have ever read: The Shadow of the Wind...
Lots of freebies, and some successful complaints
Thanks people.0 -

I think from the title of the books and the web address, msers are going to work it out that the books aren't novels. Therefore the decision is theirs. I didnt wish to upset anybody or mislead them. x0
