I need a mouse that's quiet.

I have an odd request. I need a mouse that makes little or no noise when clicking the buttons.
My old faithful was very quiet but has died on me and is no longer in production.

Iv'e been to PC World to test a few but all too noisy.

Do any of you have any recommendations?

Oh and I'd like it to be a wired optical.

Thanks

recycle the old mouse, just replace the cable, if you are happy to do that.

The only quiet one I've had was an apple mighty mouse, but they are rubbish as they get dirty really quickly and you can't open them up to clean them.

I was going to suggest the Apple Mighty Mouse too, a great idea, but does get dirty. Some people love them, some hate them (as with most things!)

What about a trackpad, or graphics tablet? You can even get desktop keyboards with trackpads built-in, then tapping replaces clicking, although you'll get "mouse" buttons at the bottom too.

Surely when you type they'll be clicking from the noise from the keys, so perhaps you should tell us why it needs to be silent ;)

In general, better quality devices such as keyboard and mice have a more positive click.

    Thanks for the help guys.

To answer a few points. I do alot more mouse clicking than typing and my keyboard is quite quiet.

Don't think I would get on with a trackpad, can't stand the one on hubby's laptop but I will research further graphics tablets.

Giveitback. Thanks for the links, they look really good. I'll do further research into those suggestions too.

And lastly.......There is no reason for the click to be silent other than I have what hubby calls "a very low tolerance when it comes to noise" :rotfl: He says even the sound of him breathing winds me up. (it does when his nose whistles)
