look after your own and other children

I am not an expert on this area, but I would have thought that there would be limits on how many children you can care for (commerically) at any one time, especially if some are babies.
If she already has 3 children of her own, then I wouldn't say there was much spare capacity to study or care for others especially if looking after a new baby.
I would be very suprised if there weren't safety regulations for public protection as clearly you can't keep your eyes on 20 youngsters at the same time.

Obviously you can have 10 kids of your own if you want which is a bit of an irony, but commercially I'm certain there will be safeguards in place.

    Needs further research.

Lisyloo is right, there are limits on how many kids you can care for(used to go to toddler group with a few childminders) I doubt very much that with 3 kids under 5 she would be able to childmind children under 5. Over 5 yes(i think) but this age group are in full time school so wouldn't need as much care from a childminder.
  • This is not a commercial venture. It is within the law if you have the correct qualifications. I think the limit is five children but this is too many for one person to cope with. It is not for babies either. The 'banking' idea works if you do this for two days then you get two days off for a part time job/study. The part time job will seem like a holiday. The remaining week day can be partially funded by child care tax credit in nursery if more than 16 hours are worked in the part time job per week. This scheme clearly requires a lot of organising with others but it works for my sister.

  • I'd also get the snip if I were you mate!

Truer words have never been said. I will be going on the waiting list later this week.
And don't get a weekend job - you'll never be able to see the kids!

I have been thinking about that. My little fella in particular would take that very hard. We usually go out exploring to local parks and woods at the weekend. 'Daddy' time is very special to the little people and is a good break for the wife...

I reckon you are paying £196 per month @8% for the £25K over 24 year term. This is not a good rate and it is secured on your house. I hope you got good value for whatever you spent the money on.

    Please, dont go there. Please?

I was not as wise then, as I am now. This site has made a lot of difference.
