Seems a bit wierd, I dont earn much more that you but they approved me for 20k to get out of a bit problem I had and i would be one of the first to admit my credit isnt the best...maybe because i have a current account with them too?

Have you asked them why you were refused? If you feel that you have an excellent credit rating, have you actually checked? It may be worthwhile (if you've not already) getting copies of your credit reports from Experian, Equifax and Callcredit just in case there is anything on there that shouldn't be.

I am hoping (once an amendment on my credit file has been sorted) to get a loan from Nationwide to pay off my extortionate overdraft. I really hope I don't get refused either as it seems like a really good deal interest rate wise.

    Good luck!

  • Yes they told me it was declined becase of affordabiliy because the amount i told them i earm didn't match up to my basic wage they dont take commision in to it even though im on a basic of 15k a year
