First Direct, 5 Year Fix Offset at 5.98%, total fees £598 (includes legals) plus valuation fee (if house visible from road and of standard construction valuation is £99).

If it's a simple remortgage and no complications in your circumstances some of the best deals, as far as interest rates go, are currently direct with the lenders and not with brokers.

How about a 20 year fixed rate 5.99% from N&P with £599 fees and free valuation. Not sure I could ever recomend anyone to fix a rate for 20 years but in current climate it does look tempting!

Sounds like a good deal to me, saves the hassle of remortgaging and paying fees every 2-3-5 years.
