I've work as a home carer for 2 1/2 years now and I love it
. It's the most rewarding job I have ever done and I look forward to going to work everyday.
Pay isn't very good at all though, expect to be on minimum wage. Also be aware that you do have to be carefull as you will be entering people's home's, who at first you won't know, some people can be abusive etc. And some of the homes won't be as clean/well kept as perhaps your own would be.
In your interview ask about what training they provide, if you have a uniform to wear (you might also want to ask if you have to pay for the uniform), mileage allowance etc. The company I work for is contracted out by social services but also provides private care, I've found the social services and private care are both very different.
If you want anymore info feel free to pm me, good luck in your interviews :beer:Virgin CC=£2652, Next= [STRIKE]£102.88,[/STRIKE] Very=£475.60, Natwest=£800, Sainsburys CC=£1777.02, Lloyds CC=£498.29, Lloyds Loan= £13,946.18, Car=£4000Total = [STRIKE]£26,147.23[/STRIKE] £23,849.09:eek:0 -
