Tesco DVD Rentals

I paid the annual fee to Tesco DVD Rental on 5th May 2007 - date renewal due 4th July 2008...my credit card received a debit today - I arranged 2 holiday periods - but these DO NOT AFFECT ORIGINAL RENEWAL DATE 4 MAY 2007...thus 3rd May they charge me on the Monthly Rate without notification or warning. I have cancelled my subscription...beware of Direct Debits on Credit Cards. Beware of annual schemes that revert to monthly without warning...BAD DEAL!

There is no such thing as a 'direct debit' on a credit card account. You are talking about a 'continuous payment authority' which is subject to different rules than a D/D & can only be cancelled by contacting the company concerned & not the card issuer.0 -
Beware of "continuous payment authority" on your credit card..thank you Thomas
