hi
I spotted a great deal in the mail last week for 5.61% on a 5 yr fixed which is what im really after. called them up and the nice lady went through things and said i can have the 110000 - inc the 999 fee, on my income alone 24k.
she said she'd need to book the advisor to got hrough it all and it would take 1 hr. booked for sat at 2.30 pm. waited till 3.15 and no call so called them up. they cocked up and said it hadn't been booked properly so she re-booked and confirmed i still had the 5.61% and to quote K223R. she said wait 10 mins after 6.30 before calling up if no one calls you.
6.30, no call monday night. waited 30 mins and called. nice chap said no meeting booked, it was messed up by their glasgow centre. said that doesn't concern me which one, i expect a call. he asked for my code so i said the k one above. he put me on hold and then said that code no longer exists and has been replaced by a 5.91%. i said that not my fault but he said they hadn't reserved the funds for that deal??? for me. i said she told me to quote this code as confirmation. he didnt budge. fuming i said i'd go to another lender.
he called me back whilst in mid rant at my ex who was round and he found a 5.59% 3 yr fixed that was expired but he could do that for me. i said if he can do that i want the 5 yr one promised. he said he couldn't and then pushed the hard sell. i said i'd think about it.
i now know that i may have made an error and should have accepted the 3yr but i want a 5yr deal. is there anything i can do?
i have writtent them a email that is not snotty at all.
