Made list of what needs using up - now need recipes please

Someone said to make a list of all the perishable foods in the house and to use them up first, so have done that and planned some meals for the week but need some recipes and suggestions for the following please? Have put them in the order that they need to be used first:

4 egg yolks (from yesterdays cake)
3/4 pack of ham
10 kiwi fruits
bag of apples
bag of oranges
2 advacados
a ginger root
3 lemons
pack of wholemeal pitta breads

All suggestions gratefully received. SG

If you have a wok, some rice and onion you could make ham and egg fried rice filled pitta breads.

Put rice on to cook in a pan.

Pittas in the oven to warm up/cook

In wok put tiny drop of oil, some chopped up onion and the ham and fry it off till its cooked or soft, then add the egg yolk (it should look like scrambled egg with ham and onion in it when its done) then add the rice nad stir fry it for a few minutes until its nicely mixed etc.

when done take the pittas out and stuff with the rice mixture tastes yumy and you could always add anymore left over meat to it too if you want it more meaty

The 3 lemons you have if you chop them in to slices and put in a jug of water and leave in the fridge you can drink it as a nice cooling drink or if you drink it before bed it acts as a good system detox - you can do this with lemons and oranges so a possible way to use them if all else fails.

apples - apple crumble? this can work with bog standard apples too ive found or how about D&DDs apple braid (see the feed family of 5 challenge thread)

You can use pitta bread as the base of individual pizzas, with ham topping.

You could make lemon drizzle cake.

You can freeze pitta breads as long as they haven't been frozen before -they do go slightly more brittle when you come to defrost and use them but taste fine.

You could add some of your ginger to the apple as well. And eve's pudding is a welcome change from Crumble in our house, and it would use up your egg yolks.

Do you have the recipe for Eve's pudding please?

And could I use a normal frying pan as I don't have a wok?

Thank you everyone for the ideas, am starting now. SG

Newlywed - I don't suppose you have a recipe for this you could post? My DH is in love with the Fu lemon drizzle squares but at £3+ for 8 I'm hoping I can replicate them cheaper at home :D

Sorry no, I was looking at a recipe on here somewhere for lemon drizzle but then my lemons had gone really mouldy so gave that one up!!

Some recipes on google suggesting just doing a normal plain sponge and then after it's cooked spike it with a skewer and pour lemon juice mixed with sugar over.

But I didn't get round to trying it!

Here is a lemon drizzle cake recipe:

    175g softened butter
    175g caster sugar
    2 eggs
    4 tablespoons milk
    175g self raising flour
zest and juice of one unwaxed lemon
    1 tablespoon icing sugar

Cream together the butter and sugar. Gradually beat in eggs and milk. Fold in flour with lemon zest. Spoon mixture into greased 2lb loaf tin. Bake 55-65 minutes 180c or 350f or gas 4 until golden.

Mix lemon juice and icing sugar to make thin paste. Pour over cake as soon as it is removed from oven. Allow glaze to set before removing from tin. Leave on rack to cool completely.

    Hope this helps, enjoy. SG
