Sooooo frustrated with Abbey. Where am I going wrong?

Hi
I'm really worried this morning.
Mortgage rate due to expire on 19th October and I'm desperate to reserve another deal as soon as possible. Hoped to get a 5 year fixed at under 6% or would consider a 3 year fixed.
My mortgage broker is on holiday until Friday so probably won't be able to get to see him until next week, in which time I fear rates may have risen again.
Woolwich have a 5.99 fixed for five years which I'd like but a little nervous of going it alone as although we have a low LTV our current mortgage ends when my husband is 68. He also has his own business hence I find it easier to use the broker that we know.
Can anyone advise me on Abbey. I've spoken with them today but they are sticking to their guns and saying that they cannot offer me anything until 19th June (exactly three months before my deal ends). I've told them that I have an meeting with the Woolwich tomorrow (haven't really) in the hope that that might sway them. The guy even told me that at the present time they would be able to offer me 5.99 fixed for five years but I would have to ring back on the 19th, by which time it may have gone of course. How frustrating is that!
Is there anyway to get Abbey to budge? Does anyone know if they have a dedicated retentions team I can get through to?
Maybe I should just relax, but I can't. Sorry for the long post.
