My broker has just self certed me 6.54% fixed for 3 years with halifax with a £999 fee
I was comming on here to complain and find a better deal, but i take it thats pretty good?
Im employed and have a proven income of £29,500 a year and need a mortgage of £180,000 but he said I would have to self cert for that...?

I'm not sure off the top of my head, but he did include 3 years P60's
Should I not be going through with this then? It all sounded above board when he was explaining it.
as long as he has been honest about your income it's fine, but your story has changed a bit from only being able to prove £29,500 you now earn another £14,000I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.This signature is here as I follow MSE's Mortgage Adviser code of conduct. My Basic Salary is £25,000 + 10% shift + oncall = £29,500
Because of the nature of my job I do 40-80 hours overtime each month, and this is reflected in last years P60 but not the two before, and I was told without self certing this will not be taken into concideration
I originally was told this would be fine to get the mortgage I need with the HSBC before I made my offer, But when This was accepted and I went to finalise the mortgage they said I could only have £161,000.
Sorry If i wasn't clear but charmed you think I am a wind up0 -
This isn't a self-cert mortgage and the lender can ask for proof of income at any time. Your broker has used a fast-track product not an actual self-cert one.0
