if my car is exempted from BR
am i allowed to sell it? to buy another car?
the reason i ask is at the moment the OH drives my car when i am not using it and when i have gone BR she will be buying her own car with her money. since i won't need a car so big if it is exempted can i sell it to buy a smaller car to use? also would it matter if i am the policy holder for her car as it is too expensive for her to insure it in her name. sounds dodgy i know but we are talking 3-4 months into BR maybe more.

Yes you can do that, that's a question I asked my OR and she said it was fine.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

so i presume that if i sell the car and buy one for less money as long as the car is exempt i can keep the difference?0

My understanding is that if your car is exempted by the OR then what you do with it is your business. So yes, selling your car, buying a smaller one and pocketing the difference should be fine.Get free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000

Hi Debtless,
Being the registered keeper of a vehicle does not constitute ownership.Know wat I mean nudge nudge wink wink.
However for the OR to allow you to keep your vehicle it would have to be considered a neccesatity therefore if you sell and dont replace it could impact on whether it was required in the first place and could change details on you SOA .Whatever the OR would need to be informed. The triumph of hope over experience

Oooh hadn't thought of that Dez-Titute   Mind you, since Debtless is going to replace the car with a smaller, more economical one it shouldn't cause too much trouble should it??
I only ask as H and I are thinking of getting smaller, more economical cars once we're on the other side of BR which will obviously have an impact on fuel costs, and possibly car tax but probably not enough to affect our SOA that muchGet free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000
