Hi guys

I'm hoping someone local here maybe help, i'm touring Scotland on a motorbike in a couple of weeks but the tank only holds some much petrol about 70/80 mile.

Part of my route is from Ullapool to Wick via the coast road, Durness, Thurso, John O'Groats to Wick

I'm a little worried that there will be no petrol station on this route and don't want to run out  .

Please can anyone advise of any handy petrol station on route ??

ay help would be great !!!

Ullapool, Thurso, Wick all have filling stations as will many of the small villages, you'll be fine so long as it's not sunday or at night.
Just fill up when you can and maybe carry a few litres spare.
If you're getting low just ask a local they'll know where the nearest filling station is;)

Definitely don't try this on a Sunday - parts of Northern Scotland seem to close completely.Remember if you take it easy you'll get a lot further (I found this out the hard way by thrashing the bike and running out of fuel!)

Brilliant scenery and great biking roads, have a good time. I'd recommend stopping off at Smoo Cave near Durness, it's brilliant. (and everything was closed in Durness when I was there on a Sunday apart from the Smoo Caves Hotel - but they don't have petrol!)

That's a pretty short range, what kinda bike do you have? You could give some of the hotels a call and ask the locals for information.
