Need help on new Bank account for after DMP

Hi,

I am just about to start my DMP and need to set up a new bank account.

I already have had a few late payments on one of my credit cards though no defaults. and it is effecting my credit rating.

I applied for an HSBC account but was turned down for anything except the basic account with only an ATM card.

I would prefer one which has a debit card, can anyone reccomend a basic account which I will more likely succeed applying for, which has a debit card ?

Feeling pretty low now.

i have just opened a cashminder account with co op over the phone. I have been told you get an electron debit card with this. you could check money supermarket.com and look for basic bank accounts on there.

The Electron debit card, is that widely accepted do you know ?

yes the electron card is accepted most places these days. the co-op account is brilliant it has a fantastic online option and you can pay in via the post office, they are always very helpful on the phone too.
