State pension query

On another thread a poster has said that her son now in his 30s will not get a state pension although he is still paying tax and National Insurance contributions. Is this right? If so how old would the last person to get a pension be now?

    That is incorrect.

His state retirement age will be higher (raised to 68 by 2044 in stages - first increase in 2024). However, he will get the basic state pension and if he is employed, his NI payments, if sufficient, will also go towards the second state pension.
