Mrs A started as a Dr receptionist four years ago. She had no experience and neither have all the new people that have started since. She did EDCL to ease herself back to work after 14 family years. EDCL is recognised by the NHS and she has moved more into accounts and IT doing less reception now. She has always loved working there. Where she works the receptionists do a regular pattern of early starts 07.45, middle 13.00 and late shifts 15.00 of 4 to 5 hours each making 21 hours a week over four days with contractual overtime to cover for colleagues absences and holidays. Be prepared to see the public behave without any manners and blatantly lie to get what they want. By the way it will always be your fault when things go wrong0

Remember I've worked in retail for 8+ years, the lying and lack of manners a normal day for me
and the always your fault? Its been my fault someone bought the wrong toilet roll in the past, so its not a big issue for me. :rotfl:
This job is 27.5 hrs a week afternoons. I still haven't figured out how they split that but I suppose its something to ask if I get an interview

I have to say I'm getting a lovely vibe from this thread. Not one person has posted and said 'ooh my mother/sister/wife worked for a doctors and HATED it there' or 'I wouldnt work as a doctors receptionist if I was paid a squillion pound an hour'. Its very heartening to hear everyone who knows someone who works or has worked at a surgery is/was really happy there.
Now I really, really want to get an interview for this job. :j:A:A:A:A:A:A0 -
