Hi
I am seriously struggling with credit card repayments. Wondered if I contacted them if they would freeze the interest and or accept lower payments? Need to do this to try and up the payments on one of the others otherwise I will never clear them. Cant get a loan... credit rubbish. I know it will impact my credit rating for 6 years but I am ok with that. Any suggestions / links to templates gratefully received.
Thanks

Hi Achelois and welcome.
Could you not transfer the debt to a 0% balance transfer card? I know that Virgin money do one where you pay an initial admin fee of 2.98% and then it is 0% interest for 15 months - don't spend on the card though.
Perhaps you could list your statement of affairs and we can see where you can save money and perhaps use that money to pay off cards?0 -
Hi and thanks
I have already applied to 0% card offers but been refused. I posted my SOA on here a while ago and have taken action as informed.... the problem is I am just able to pay the minimum every month and it is making no difference to the balance. Could I ask them to freeze interest and accept a lower payment?
Thanks for your help

Hi Archelois
What stage are your debts at? Are you still paying them on time each month or have they been passed to debt collection agencies? If you are still paying them each month and you aren't behind, they won't freeze interest but they might accept lower payments for a couple of months if you explain the situation.

I have been paying them on time (except one month) and have been paying the minimum or more when I have been able to (although not often).... is there no hope?

Achelois...it will help us greatly if you post a SOA so that we can see if you can cut anything out and also what loans/cards etc you have.
Also could you get a second job sell things on e-bay etc.I'm afraid with no info it is hard to help you.0 -
Hi
Here is your previous SOA but I think we need to see the full picture.
Personally I struggled with this as it seems to suggest that there are two of you but that you pay all the mortgage and rent?If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
