I'm going to disagree with the majority view here. Tracey should cough up half, she's in the wrong by not taking her money out of the pot too. My feeling is is that if this does go to court Angela will win more than 1/6th because the agreement was they split winnings 50-50.
If it does go to court (I'm guessing small claims) Tracey could end up with nothing - Angela gets 50% plus her costs which could well wipe out tracey's half.
The fact there is no agreement is the real problem here - one should have been written that said whether any winnings were re-invested or not. No written agreement doesn't mean there was no contract between the two.
Can you search the web for any precidents?0 -

I've been thinking about this the most equitable thing would be for tracey to take £4 out of the win and then to split the rest 50-50, googling lottery cases I would supsect that this case would go in favour of angela if it went to court (but would all depend upon the actual facts presented in court)0

^^ Also i heard somwhere that if you win a LARGE amount of cash, and there is no written agreement for the syndicate, then the money you dish out to the others is Subject to Tax?Almost..debt free.. :P:money:0 -
