No, no, no, don't give up. It is possible that it has fermented out quickly because of the hot weather. There are so many factors to take into account, how warm, amount of sugar, kind of yeast etc, etc. You need to taste it and decide then if it tastes right or not. I usually don't bother with a starter and just add it all at once. It takes a little longer to start bubbling that's all.

Try here, there are so many easy recipes, there's bound to be one that's right for you to try until you get a feel for it.

Mr Mambury wants to have a go at brewing his own beer and cider:eek:
Can anyone recommend a website (based in the middle of nowhere so online shopping is easiest!) that sells good quality equipment at reasonable prices??

I already have lots of grolsch style bottles (bought of ebay) as I needed some for elderflower champers and a bucket or two, but I understand the requirements for beer are a little bit more sofisticated than that!

Oh, someone might find this useful..... I bought two lots off this guy and all arrived unbroken and within three days!

Thanks so much for that. I tried again using dried active yeast and it is bubbling away as we speak.

I have got it in a glass demi john with a bung and airlock, it's been bubbling for the last couple of days and the froth is right up to the top and coming out of the airlock. When do I add the last carton of juice? x

Was it there when you added the yeast to the juice?

I poured mine in using a jug and it looked a bit funky on the side of the DJ. Give it a bit of a shake and it will settle in the bottom as sediment x

    I've just bottled it all:

    5620_617225815222_286106345_6514555_7167021_n.jpg

and it's rather cloudy... have I done something wrong?

Also, I put in way too much sugar for primining accidently... any way to save it without exploding (put it in tablespoons instead of teaspoons)
