Garages can't always be trusted!
Well it's something we already know, but here's a classic.
My car has always been rough idling since the day I bought it 2nd hand, but as it's old and high mileage, I just kinda lived with it.
The main dealer couldn't find a fault, all the electrics checked and all the usual culprits such as pipes, ECU, ICU, throttle housing, egr valve. Nothing, nada, zip.
Then it went in to have its timing belt changed, and guess what the belt had been put on one tooth out of position. The mechanic was cross that the dealership sold me the car like this (although I did get a good discount due to the idling, so it wasn't all bad!)
Now it's like a brand new car!
