    Just to clarify, a device is covered by your home licence ANYWHERE when it is solely powered by an internal battery.

    Outside the area covered by your normal licence ( e.g. a wifi hotspot) if it is powered by any other method e.g. charger from the mains then a licence is required.

    Anyone looking for tv online all you need to do is just google `tv` and you will be amazed at the amount of sites that you will be able to watch. Som simple to do but hardly no-one does because we all think it can`t bethat easy but believe me it is true.
  • Thanks for this!

    For an excellent little app for getting Youtube videos in full screen try https://www.getmiro.com

    It's a nice little programme, you can subscribe to video channels so it's like a video version of itunes podcasts

    Have you bought a TV license for your PC as well?. As this is live TV then a license is required
    The new technology the BBC has is amazing! Most of us pay our dues to them then they go and GIVE all of it away free to anyone who does not live in the UK!!!!!!! Its just the same on satellite as well! Why should we pay so much for our TV license if they are putting our money into technology that is of no benefit to viewers in the UK? Most other countries state television at least bother encode their channels so that you have to buy a viewing card!
    Thats it rant over, I'm moving to Southern Ireland. At least there they look after their OAP's better.

    there is a loophole in the law with reference to re-streaming those broadcasts. this applies more especially when it's a OFFSHORE REBROADCASTER. like a SWISS one(zattoo). thus with this OFFSHORE restreaming there is no need for ANY LICENSE! also i woukld READ the license conditions, it refers only to TV TUNING EQUIPMENT....AS IN HARDWARE... IT'S VERY SPECIFIC. this, on a pc/mac would apply to a TV card ... you know... HARDWARE.

    thanks great works a treat just in time for football and no spam
  • Also for those using the Ubuntu (linux) operating system, Zattoo is available too, and it works just fine.
    So the cost is:
    Ubuntu = Free
    Zattoo = Free

    not a bad little money saver :)

    plus no viruses or adware or spyware so another "Brucie Bonus"
