My cat has a tooth that looks like it may need extracting.

I want to know if pet insurance covers tooth extractions?

And if anyone has done something similar, taken out a policy and claimed within a year or 2.

This is not my vets opinion, it is my opinion and is therefore not an existing condition officially...just to counter if anyone suggests this is dishonest.

You'll have to check your policy carefully as this could be a bit of an ambiguous one. Most policies won't cover cosmetic dentistry, however, if the tooth is causing severe medical problems then you may well find you're covered for it. They also won't cover you for preventative treatment/surgery either!

If it is causing your cat problems then it's going to need treating regardless of whether the insurance covers it or not, but I'm sure you're vet will advise you on that and whether he thinks you should put in a claim for it
