Cooking temperatures

You know when you're grilling things, often the instructions say "cook on a medium grill for 12 mins". Well, what is a medium grill?! I tried googling, and I get psychic mediums or can buy things from Amazon.

Also, my mum had a great thingy that has gas marks, Fahrenheit and centigrade comparisons. But it was stuck on a cupboard door, and then we redid the kitchen, so it's gone. Can I print one out anywhere?

I know this is probably a really stupid question, but atm I kinda stick everything in the oven and hope. When I get bored of waiting, it must be done :)

The knobs on my current cooker go from 0 (off) to 9 (maximum). Therefore, when I specify "medium" heat in any of my recipes, I've set it to 4.5. "Low" is 2.25 (or thereabouts).

These are my temperature conversions ...

    140°C, 275°F, gas mark 1
    150°C, 300°F, gas mark 2

    170°C, 325°F, gas mark 3

    180°C, 350°F, gas mark 4
    190°C, 375°F, gas mark 5
    200°C, 400°F, gas mark 6
    220°C, 425°F, gas mark 7
    230°C, 450°F, gas mark 8
    240°C, 475°F, gas mark 9
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)
