Recycling Mobile Phones...

Options
Has anyone used any of the internet sites to recycle their old mobile phone for cash instead of sending it off to Tesco for the 300 points? Thinking of using envirofone and getting Argos vouchers... Anyone any experience or other suggestions?

I used envirofone with no problems at all, though I asked for money not Argos vouchers. I am currently using them again. I think I went through Quidco (or Greasy Palm) as well. Have not received anything back from them yet though, but anything extra is a help!

    Hey all

I have an old (well 2 year old) mobile phone which has a damaged screen. I want to recycle it, preferably in one of those schemes where you get loyalty points for it.

However it seems that none will take it if it is damaged. I've looked at Tesco and Boots.

Can anyone recommend a scheme where I will get something back for it?

Or if not, recommend a scheme where someone (charity etc) will benefit from it?

    Thanks

As its damaged i dont think you would get anything for it, you tried envirofone and mazume mobile as they give you the option to send them a phone thats damaged, they then check the phone and give you something, it depends if the phone is on they're list if not then a charity like cafod would take it

They will send you a freepost envolope and pay you for it. Simply select that the phone is damaged when checking it in.
  • Having a damaged screen won't effect whether it can be 'recycled' or not, you may just not get as much for it. As for getting 'loyalty points' through one of the loyalty schemes, why not look for a company that will pay cash? There's a number of UK Mobile Recycling Companies Here who will pay you cash for your old mobile.

If you live around Liverpool, Radio Merseyside are collecting them for charity at the moment, you can send it to them Freepost or hand it into any O2 shop
