    hello,

I was wondering is there anything you could make to sell on e bay? bit of a long shot, or maybe sell the stuff you can buy cheaply from the hello tomorrow book? (on Avon) I have stock to sell, but not got round to it yet!

could you do any other door to door selling? I am not sure how it would work with Avon or JSA or perhaps offer a pet sitting/walking service?

    Nevertheless she persisted.

Elle - I have remembered something that I saw on The One Show the other night which may be helpful. They reported on supermarket BOGOFs and how if you and a friend compared shopping lists and one went to the supermarket and bought the BOGOFs on the list and the other went to another supermarket and spent the same on different BOGOFs they could then pool their shopping and save money. It might be an idea although whether or not it would work I am not sure.

I am becoming the master of making do and have only recently ventured into selling on ebay - not sold anything yet though, I am not really sure what to put on there, I have some nice clothes that no longer fit but don't know if people would buy them:confused: Guess, I will have to be brave and list them and see what happens.

That's a new and innovative moneysaving idea the BOGOFs thing! I'm a pro at ebay btw so PM me if you need any pointers. I used to have an ebay shop years ago though these days I just sell cast-offs and the odd clubcard voucher I can't use (well, as if I'd buy Pampers or Huggies just to get 100 points!). I know how to use auction builders to get extra pics in for free etc.

I used to sell personalised chocolate bars and handmade cards as I'm good at papercrafts but the market is too competitive now. It's not worth the fees! So many people try it that the items to sell are the ones being sold at a loss by failed new venturers most of the time.

But you've given me an idea anyway thanks! I have a box of about 200 handmade cards sat upstairs that I could take to playgroup. I'll bet they'll let me put a stand up if I cut them in.

I think £25 is good for 2 people per week- well done you!

Have you joined the cashback sites such as quidco and topcashback? There are useful pounds to be made by clicking through to sites for free.

Also, will your child get the free nursery place at 3 and will that free you up to do some hours of work? I'm a full-time working mum of a 16 month old so I completely sympathise with the childcare thing.

Thank you, normally I just get snide remarks about how I should just get a job and to hell with what it does to my child etc etc

I think my son gets his free place in the Feb 09 term (Sep 05 baby) so a little way off yet but not ages. I'm praying a cleaning job comes up because my free time will be 3hrs 5 times a week. Yes it's time to work, but very specific hours! So I figure cleaning will be my mostly likely bet. I might be able to advertise myself as self-employed during those hours though mightn't I?

Food for though thanks. It'd be a lot easier if my ex would just have his own bloomin' son a couple of days a week but hey, let's not go down THAT road again...

Oh, and I am a member of Pigsback for the daily clicks and get Boots Vouchers about four times a year thanks. I didn't find the others ever reached a payout!

If you stick at the cashback sites then they really do pay out!
