    Just back from Aberdeen (King St) morrisons, very disappointed. Energy saving screw cap was £1.99 for 2, bayonet cap £1.99 each, all wattages. These were alongside the normal lightbulbs, should I have been looking for a separate display?

    The ones in my store were in one of those wire bins on a corner - they weren't with the normal lightbulbs. Maybe try ringing them if you are thinking of going again to look, and then if they don't have them there you haven't wasted a journey.

    They are in a separate display in my local (Whitley Bay) store, at the end of an aisle just by the 'Hand Baskets only' till. They come in two flavours, 11W (equivalent to 60W) and 18W (equivalent to 100W), however when I got my two 18W bulbs back home and put them away I realised I had one left from a previous freebie offer. This one was also rated 100W equivalent but was a 20W not 18W as currently offered. A quick inspection shows the ones on offer at Morrison's are:

    Phillips Energy Saver
    18WATT Energy 100WATT Light
    1100 Lumen 130mA
    6000h (hours?)
    6 Years Lifetime

    My previous one::
    Phillips Energy Saver
    20WATT Energy 100WATT Light
    1200 Lumen 140mA
    15000h (hours?)
    12 Years Lifetime

    The Morrison's one is also physically smaller.

    Unfortuantely in my experience you can go wrong with these, because some of them are so unreliable. Some seem to go on for ever, though, and it's impossible to tell them apart when you buy them!

    I went today to Morrisons in Bristol. They had a basket full labelled at 99p BOGOF. They only had the screw type. It also said offer ends 24th December 2005.

    All my lighting is now via low energy bulb. One of them (an 11W one) blew within two weeks. All the other ones have been going and going and going.

    Wouldn't mind the BOGOF deal, but my local Morrisons does not have them. Must look around.
    Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.
