Debt interest

Hi,
Can anyone help with this dilemma:
My boyfriend was in £20,000 worth of debt to 3 credit cards company. However over 3 years and with the help of Payplan, he got an agreement with the banks to freeze the interest and the debt is now down to £12,000. Having been through all the stress of finding out about the debt (i had no idea) and managing to pay £300 a month back we now face a huge problem. Halifax had decided out of the blue to re-add the interest to the remaining debt! Its like we are going back in time. There was light at the end of the tunnel but now with the interest set as it is and by still paying £300 we will be lucky to pay it off on 20 years!!! Has this happened to anyone else and what can you advise.....? It cant just be my boyfriend they are re-adding the interest too?
thanks in advance x

Ignore this troll Hogman..... he's not worth it. The nice lot will be around soon to offer some good advice.YOUR = belonging to you (your coat); YOU'RE = you are (I hope you're ok)
really....it's not hard to understand :T0 -
Hi everybody.
Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.
What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.
If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.
what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?
firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.
The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!
It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis
PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.
Kind wishes
P

Hi Hogman
As others say ignore the troll.
It's not uncommon for creditors to start adding interest again. They are not legally obliged to freeze interest anyway. I'm on a DMP and a couple of my creditors have started adding interest again. I would suggest you contact Payplan again and see if they can try and negotiate again with Halifax. Halifax may agree to reduce the interest which may help.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Hi Hogman
Ignore the troll. I would rather be in debt for 20 years knowing it will eventually come to an end. The trolls on here will have problems all their lives. Hope you get some help soon. I have had and read a lot of good advice of this site.0
