Just posted this on the Families Board, but thought it should get a wider airing.
I've never heard of it before, and it sounds like a great idea. Seems genuine - just found out about from an article in The Times:
http://business.timesonline.co.uk/to...cle4029355.ece
"Children's perks
When parents sign up to KidStart.co.uk, they earn up to 20 per cent back on purchases made on their debit or credit cards at hundreds of online or high-street retailers. This cash is deposited in either a Child Trust Fund or a nominated children's savings account. It is free to join, and is also open to grandparents or friends."
See http://www.kidstart.co.uk/
Seems you can get grandparents to do it, too - all helps!
Also, it seems that unlike quidco etc, you will be able to use kidstart by shopping instore as well as online, by using your debit card, and registering your number. Don't think you can do that yet.

Thanks, a long list of shops here.
I wonder would they know if you got a friend (one who shops on line alot) to be "grandparents"?A smile and manners doesnt cost any thing0 -
The great thing about KidStart is that family and friends can also save for your children
Invite them to save for your children through the members website and once they join, they can allocate some of their Kiddybank to your children.
Grandparents love to help out and KidStart is an easy way for them to do soA smile and manners doesnt cost any thing0 -
just had a quick look at 4 random retailers and it says "all purchases must be completed wholly online" for those 4: has anyone found any that you can get a discount for instore? Otherwise its just the same as Quidco.
On the home page it says:
"Become a KidStart member and you will receive up to 20% back for your children when you shop online at over 200 well known retailers."
it looks to me as if the times got it wrong about instore. Unless kidstart are planning to issue their own cashback credit card or something.0 -

It looks like its "coming soon" instore. I think Greasypalm have done this. You register your debit/credit card and every time it's used at a registered reatailer it "should" track. Don't know how successful it would be though.0 -
Have just registered with Kidstart, and you can now register a credit/debit card so you can collect cashback when using instore rather than online in any of the registered retailers in theory, haven't actually tried it yet !0
