Easy ways to save (according to the Times website)

Options
I've just been reading this on the timesonline site, about ways to save without noticing it.

Thought some people might find it useful. I didn't know about the sweeping thing that banks do, that could be useful (if i wasn't overdrawn slightly at the end of the month).

hmmm a bit of a mixed bag there it seems. the £30+ charge per year on sweeping your account at the end of each month IMO does away with any good intention.

The kidstart thing looks similar to quidco but transfers the money to a child trust fund instead. Quidco appears to offer better incentives tho and once the money is received via quidco to your account you can transfer it to your childs savings if you want.

The save the change thing sounds ok depending on what delay, if any transfering the cash to your savings account and what rate they were offering LTSB savings rates used to be pathetic.

On the whole it gives some good ideas but not the most MSE ideas.

Remember it was in the Times, so most of the readership will not be concerned with piffling amounts of money like we are....;)
