Lovely bras - lovely prices!

Firstly, no offence taken Eyelinerprincess - you are right to be cautious and I wouldn't take anyone else's recommendation at face value without further checks or endorsements either! Thank you to those who have endorsed my find too.
BUT... I am dismayed at the snide responses from a couple of members here - on a point of principle. I am a genuine customer of this particular company - I discovered what I considered to be great lingerie at great prices with great service and so, in the spirit of Moneysavers, thought I'd let others in on my find. After all, I've saved considerably on some other 'finds' posted in this thread myself (particularly the recent Elizabeth Arden giftset from directcosmetics - thank you!).
Of course I appreciate none of us 'know' each other and we'd all be mad not to adopt a caveat emptor approach to all recommendations and do more research before buying, but I resent being accused of being either a 'scammer' or a 'spammer'.
In fact, one member has stated as fact that this is 'spam'. Pray tell me, how this is 'spam'? Might it not be better to check facts before making spurious statements of 'fact' ? Forgive me for my presumption, but why is a man rubbishing a thread intended to help us girls save money on expensive underwear anyway?...bizarre.
Another suggested my purchases 'smelled like cheap factory returns' - charming. Actually, as the one with the lingerie with original swing tickets attached (and yes, they do retail at £24 each), might I not be in a better position to be able to verify their authenticity?! Yes, they are genuine and no, they are not seconds.
I am not in any way connected to this company (I have read the rules of this forum) and I have absolutely nothing to gain and, let's face it, some of the damning comments here could have damaged reputation rather than enhanced it, wouldn't they?
Quite honestly, I'm now wishing I'd not taken the time to recommend this site and I'll keep my great 'finds' to myself from now on (which is a shame because I'm known amongst my friends as being a brilliant shopper).
I never sought to gain anything from this post but I have gained some valuable insight into the curious world of forums!!0 -
welcome to the wonderbra opps wonderful world of MSE. It can be a bit of a handfull here sometimes and there is often the odd boobie made here but most of the time its ok0

I can recommend Brastop.com for heavily discounted bras, great service, a website that doesn't look like it's been cobbled together by a squinting novice with a 1992 copy of HTML for Dummies.::Quidco.com - £1100 in 11 months. Kerr-ching! ::0

Thank you Fogg1969 - great site and I agree MUCH better looking than the other one (which I agree is terribly naff). I only found discountbras when I was looking for the Triumph lingerie brand and googled it.
Having had a really good bra fitting consultation in John Lewis, there are only a couple of brands which seemed to fit me - Triumph being one of them. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the brastop site does Triumph but I will have a look again - it certainly is a good site.0 -
People tend to be very defensive when it comes to companies they work for, own or know. Maybe you are a customer but your posts dont ring true.
Also, this is more suited to the 5 star service board more than quick grabbit.Nice to save.0 -
I definitely give up!! I can't win can I?
Sorry if my posts 'don't ring true' to you, sorry that I am on the wrong thread (I did apologise at the start of my thread) and sorry for trying to be helpful!...but to be honest (which actually is something I am), I don't care a fig whether anyone takes my advice or not.
It's interesting to see how quick people are to condemn. Funnily enough, in real life, we wouldn't be so snitty to each other, would we?!! I thought one of the tenets of this forum was to 'be nice to each other'. Hmmmmm...0 -
Post a bargain but dont be so defensive about it. If we question it then that is the whole point of the internet what with scammers and such like.
It isn't about condemning but being safe online so if it isn't your company then there really shouldn't be a problem.Nice to save.0 -
Agreed asharon.
But is it really not forum etiquette to defend myself against being accused wrongly of posting 'spam'?
No, it's NOT my company, I don't live in Liverpool, and frankly I'd be embarrassed to be connected to a company with such a poorly designed website but, at the end of the day, they are bargain prices. Isn't that what this whole website is about?
It's a topsy turvy world on here for sure with loads of unwritten rules (like make sure your posts are not too well-written and don't defend yourself when attacked)!!

Can we draw a line under this please?

Hi Slightlymiffed,
I thought you behaved very well, there's nothing wrong in my book with defending oneself from being accused of being a spammer. Yes the website looks naff, but I have bought a lot of stuff from similar websites, and was always satisfied with my purchases. Image doesn't have to be an indication of content, there are still some good old fashioned companies out there who concentrate on the product.
I'd rather be too trusting than too cynical...
Take care0
