Direct Debit Hell turns into huge Interest Rate charge

I have recently been charged £100 fees as I had a temporary glitch in an otherwise perfect payment history. I guess with the cost of living rising at what I reckon is at least 20% real world inflation we are all struggling
I know DDs are handy but they take your flexibility to adjust monthly settlements and £100 charges is outrageous so I cancelled them in favour of GIRO or Debit card.
I have just been charged a whopping 62.9% (APR) interest by esure because they refuse to be paid by Debit card each month rather than DD.
Watch out folks! If you cancel you DDs these big companies seem unable to cope with normal people!

...they take your flexibility to adjust monthly settlements...
Do you mean that they do not allow you to pay less than you agreed to pay when it suits you?

So because you cancelled the agreed method of payment (and the discount you get from DD) esure now wish to charge you more for a method not originally agreed and more expensive for them to process. mmm
Sounds fair enough0 -
