Although it is the correct price of 499 it has a celeron processor (and isnt wireless enabled according to the specification)0 -
Usual PC World false advertising. Not the first time they have done this.EGG are a bunch of complete bankers!0

Pentium M class processor, does that mean Centrino?

I am on the laptop hunt at the moment. I went in to PCW yesterday as I had seen the same laptop advertised on the tv. The sales assistant advised me against the one advertised and said I would be better off spending an extra £100 and getting the Packard Bell pentium L4013 he said that the spec was much better. I haven't a clue about laptops, so I don't know what to do.0

Faster processor, twice the RAM and a DVD writer rather than a combo drive
Yes that's good advice IMHO from a PCWorld salesman for once - it's certainly worth the extra £100TANSTAAFL !0 -
Whoops sorry same processor but still probably worth the extraTANSTAAFL !0

Yep,
The higher-spec L4013 is available online for £599.99. Better memory, DVD writer.
If you add 1p to the order to make it up to £600 does that mean you can use the £50 off discount code to get it for £549.99?
EDIT: Ooops! Wrong shop for discount code. Order the same laptop from Dixons or Currys (they're all part of the same group). You'll find a code for £50 off purchases over £600 (valid until 1 Oct) floating around! This will make the laptop just £50 more than the original one you were looking at. Also, as Packard Bell are a branch of the larger and better known NEC, they have a reasonable reputation.0 -
Might as well get an Inspiron 6000 if you're going to pay £600... 5% off through quidco* too
* I assume I can mention quidco hereEGG are a bunch of complete bankers!0
