Money Laundering on credit reference!!!!!

My OH has just checked his credit record with annualcredit.co.uk and has seen on the credit searches a reference to Money Laundering He knows nothing of this (thankfully) anybody have any ideas?

I've had two in the last year with the Abbey. I had a large redundancy payment and then a second large compensation payment which I guess they were checking the movement of. Has he had any kind of payment like this or a similar large-ish amount of money?

It doesn't count as a 'proper' search - ie one counted if you were applying for credit.

Hi, yes I have emailed the company but still waiting for the reply!

The only activey we can think of is our Mortgage and unsecured loan last year, do you think it could be that?

if you got a large loan and it was deposited as a cheque, it could maybe be that?

Hi LJW,

I also checked my credit reference report on this site and noticed that it mentioned that a search had been done, with regards to money laudering.. The date of the search had been carried out about four months after I had two large deposits paid into may account. At first I was alarmed like yourself but later realsied that it was so the movement of the money could be tracked, to make sure no illegal acctivity is going on..

Thanks Caz that does help. It must have been a loan he got out last year!

Thought he had an alter ego at first! mmmm that would be quite exciting!!
