Pension options ??

Hello all :)
A 46 year old man is retiring with a monthly benefit of $1939.He and his wife, also 46 , have the options :
Option #1..........$1939 monthly
Retirees death......$0
(purchase a 20-30 year term policy to make up the difference)

Option #2..........$1837 monthly
Retirees death.....$918

Option #3...........$1745monthly
Retirees death....$1745

We are both healthy and have no dependants. We also have other inverstments so our concern is mostly on dollars saved.
Thanks so much
Melissa

This is a UK site and UK options are totally different to American. Sorry.

  • Thanks Dunstonh,
    I wasn't aware of that.
Most Americans consider themselves "Euro-Mutts".I do know that i am part British and part German and my ancestors are from Sunderland, England. Whenever i see Britain on the television i feel a real sense of pride.Your cities seem so beautiful, safe and clean...unlike American cities.

    Thanks again,
    Melissa
