Hiya, we've got problems with Lilly Beetles - i've sprayed with Bayer Provado but they seem to keep on comin back

When you say you "dunked" your pot - what do you mean ?? Did you just dunk it straight into a bucket of water inc fairy liquid ?? Does this work then ??

    ,,

yeah, dunked the pot and left it under water for 10 minutes. Worked a treat. Got rid of all the larvae at the time and I guess the adults as week, as I haven't seen them since I did it last year and they're about to flower.

And the lilies come up all shiny and nice looking too! ;)

I've got a terrible aphid problem in my brassicas patch :(

Didn't realise how bad it was until I took off the netting to weed between and pull up some of the old WSB plants. IVe had to throw out several cabbages as the botton few leaves were absolutely infested and even if I could get rid there's no way I'd fancy eating them now _pale_

Next question is, how on earth do I get rid of the ones in the soil? And what can I safely plant in that bed that won't be affected by them please? They are the grey ones that look like a grey powdery mildew until you inspect closer.

Can I buy ladybird larvae from anywhere online?

PS MBE - love the [STRIKE]snake[/STRIKE] worm!!! :p:D

Mozzies. Bloody things (pardon the pun)
I have a realy bad reaction to the bites. I had one last year that made my hand and arm swell double the size all the way up to my elbow, and the veins were sticking out all the way to my shoulder and black in colour.
Not good for someone who enjoys gardening:confused:

Hopefully my imune system is starting to bite back, I've had a couple of bites this season and touch wood they haven't given me to much jip....

I used nematodes in my pots 3 years ago and haven't seen a single larvae or beetle since. Brilliant stuff http://www.greengardener.co.uk/weevil.htm

Slightly off gardening topic but I just sat down at my lap top, heard a weird buzz, moved the top of the laptop and crawling along the back was a beetle of some sort:eek: It was nearly an inch long (I think ) and had a brown back.........eeek !!!! What on earth was it and why did it find such a fascination with the back of the computer ????

    Any ideas ?
