    if you post up the full details of your 2006-7 tax then maybe we could sort out why you got a refund.

    Thanks for the really helpful advice here. its good to know that we should have something back whether thats through the PAYE system or through a rebate.
    Will look back on his past bonuses as am 99% sure that they've always been taxed at 40% but then there hasnt been a tax reduction to follow or a rebate.

  • Can I ask, if I get 28k gross salary got a £2500 bonus. 3/4 to be paid in August. 1/4 at Christmas. How much will I get through in my August pay packet. Obviously approximates are good for me right now. Thanks

    Tax will be about £2168, NIC about £420

    Does anyone know that what would be my monthly income base on following figures?

    Salary : 40k per year
    Bouns : 8%

    There is also a option of Non contribution company's pension which is 5% and i don't know if i need to pay tax on that as well?

    when is the bonus paid
    any benefits in kind
    when did you start the job.


    but pensions payments aren't taxed so no extra tax to pay
  • I got a 2k bonus with a base salary of about the same. After tax, that turned into 1400.
