It says on the front of the Mirror that they are meant to be used in small local independent stores. Not sure of the exact details as I haven't bought the paper, but I get the feeling they want to 'celebrate' local shops and for people not to use them in supermarkets.

Someone on the paid to shop site has used the mirror coupons in tesco with no problems.

Sent hubby to Tescos with a handful of coupons collected thanks to this thread and they are now saying that they have changed their policy and that they will only accept one coupon per transaction unless you have bought the product. Is this true do you know and as anyone else had this problem?

I had 3 different transactions today ( to test the water). I bought 1 item at a time.

Was told 3 different policies... each time:

1st one: Only under 1 pound for MOCs... so handed over 1.60 of mocs
2nd one: took full item value 5.80 of mocs 20 p cash
3rd one: only 1 MOC less than 1 pound...

Really differening ideas at my store.. need to remember which cashiers do what :P

Hiya! I work at the tills in Tesco (Tetbury). Not sure about the local retailer coupons will discuss with my manager tomorrow morning! I think it may be store specific. Our Tesco's is quite a small one and it's certainly MY local shop!!! ...... Have been to ask, Jo from the cash office says that we wont be taking them as they are for another shop, much like the sainsburys/morrisson/somerfield etc store specific ones. Never mind, it was worth the ask! don't ask, don't get! i'm just pleased that i bought the paper with a coupon so i didn't lose any real money on it!! sorry.
