Hi all, sorry if this is really covered anywhere else, but tried a quick search and nothing specific enough came back.
Now that Natwest have closed my step account (with no warning, so financial ombudsman here I come) I want to know which is the best direction to go bank account wise. I have been discharged two years now and was with Natwest since my bankruptcy. Always kept my account well and never had any problems. But now obviously I need to get an account opened asap.
I have an appointment with Abbey on monday (very helpful), but he said that it isn't guaranteed I would get a basic account. Does anyone have any tips. Unfortunately there isn't a co-op near me, but would nationwide be worth a look. Also, what bank would be good to go with to get your account upgraded in the future?
Regards
Kev

I'm not really up on this but from what I've read on these forums, Co-op might be worth a try and I believe you get an Electron card with it as well. I'm thinking of applying for one as a second account.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

halifax do an easycash account. No credit check. Has online facility and direct debits but their customer service does leave a lot to be desired. However, its a bank!Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford
