I did really well this month...instead of £600 pounds into my £500 overdraft I managed to keep it to £450, effectively paying them back £150. That was until they added the £75 charges from last month, then £25 for refusing to pay a DD for £5.60 (which there was plenty in for) and a further £75 for blowing my overdraft this month will be taken out at the END of next month. Surely it makes more sense to take it out at the beginning when I have money and not at the end when I have none?!!
Another thing is if there are credits and debits to go onto your account at the close of business the sh*t robbing greed monkeys debit your account before adding any credits, therefore ensuring that you go overdrawn if you are already close. This has happened to both me and my parents.
Also I have gone through my bank statements and the £250 they put on the list of charges I asked for is not even close, it's closer to £500 (and probably over now). They disguise charges under other names and have only given me a list of about half when I asked for ALL charges...grrrr.
Last but not least my sister opened a student account with them with an interest free overdraft of £1500 which on graduation would be turned into a graduate account with the same facility. I heard a rumour on facebook that for those graduating this year the interest free overdraft wouldn't be happening and so let her know about this, so (she says) she has worked her !!! off and cleared it. Two days ago (a month before she graduates) she received a letter telling her about this "new" development. If it hadn't been for the facebook rumour she would have been left with a £1500 overdraft with a month to pay off before she started gaining interest on it!!! Her house mate, in the same situation complained and was told that these letters have "taken a considerable amount of time to reach some of our customers and we sincerely appologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Unfortunately we are not in a position at this time to reverse the decision for individual customers, but if you would like to contact us to discuss your borrowing needs further we may be able to find you a more suitable method".
How's that for irresponsible lending?!!
Rant over.

now breathe!
I used to be in a similar situation with Barclays, the charges would keep me in my overdraft all the time!
...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0
