Is Horrowgate worth a visit? I've always thought of it as a sort of Guildford-by-Sea with peculiar accents.0 -

It's refreshing to see a properly qualified expert on TV, with a factual professional outlook, coldly serving up their reality based outlook like she did.
Smart lady that Seema Shah of Capital Economics - 2 Economics degrees from LSE.Seema Shah also works on commercial and residential property market research. Seema joined Capital Economics from the PwC Economics team, where she specialised in macroeconomic consulting. That involved both providing analysis and forecasts of the major global economies, with specific focus on Europe, and undertaking large strategic macroeconomic projects for clients. Seema has two degrees in Economics from the LSE.0 -
She can undertake a large strategic macroeconomic project with me anytime...

In the last crash, my house went from £149,000 to £95,000. It took a couple of years - took a lot longer to get back to what we paid for it!0

it's a pleasant victorian spa town with prob. the highest concentration of porsches and aston martins outside of london. Is Horrowgate worth a visit? I've always thought of it as a sort of Guildford-by-Sea with peculiar accents.
the 5th most des.res town in the UK, allegedly.
it breaks my heart to learn of a 'correction' in HP's.
last night I spoke to a local chap who bemoaned the fact that many had been priced out by the 'money' gravitating from the south and a few locals who have done well.
he put a 1 bed flat at £170k.
I told him to get his cute little y/shire butt onto this site.
if p/snake is correct, no-one in this town seems to be listening. the upmarket shops still seem to be full of well-heeled shoppers.
still, a nice place for a break. knaresborough is just down the road and is even nicer.miladdo0 -
Capital Economics were talking 20% drops, and now 33% drops.. keeps on going.
Dream on with your 15% drops and then rapid HPI again, or "Scotland won't be affected".

At first I was ridiculed for saying there was a crash... Now I'm being ridiculed for saying that 60-70% will be wiped off houses. We'll see. I fear there are lots of rose tinted glasses tainted with faeces from watching too much tv. Big brother, x-factor, Britain's got talent.... they've turned everyones brain to mush. The most far fetched reality show of them all? The News!0
