Have Barclays shot themselves in the foot

They have, are have said, they will reduce their fees to £8 from the current £30 or £35 charge. They have stated they planned to this for a while - so why waste money on the court case??

Doesnt this give the OFT the ammunition to say if barclays can do it, so can others??

Sorry if this is elsewhere, but havnt seen it.
No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.
