Two person tents at Asda for £7.93

My local Asda (Yeovil) is selling two-person tents for £7.93. The sticker on them says £9 something but the shelf price is £7.93. Quite a few still left.

  • Hi
i just thought i should warn anyone considering buying one of these (which i believe are 2 for £15 in some stores) that you really do get what you pay for!
I made the mistake of taking one to a festival last weekend - it was a disaster! For a start, it doesn't come with any guy ropes, just one peg for each corner, so it was blowing about all over the place, and as soon as we had a drop of rain it started leaking really really badly. We had to sleep in the car on the second night.
I know that for £8 you can't expect much, but unless it's just to put up in the garden for your kids to play in or something, i really wouldn't bother with them.

If you're looking for a two-man tent that actually stays up, doesn't leak and will last a few summers (ie actually fit for camping in) then go for something like a Lichfield Apache 2 or Apache 3. A bit more expensive than £7.93, but hardly megabucks and they're real tents, made for UK leisure camping conditions ie rain!!

(If you want to climb Everest they might be a bit low spec though....)

i agree with u scuccadenza after going to wales at the weekend my friends decided to buy these we already had a big tent but not big enough for everyone well i know you can expect much for that money but 4 pegs holding it in the ground any wind and it gets inside as the top as this weird vent completley useless unless used as a toy or on a very nice day.
Good Luck and happy 2016 Everyone :smileyhea
