  • Hi Everybody

I got £4.50 today from a couple of surveys.

I had to have my cat put to sleep today  he was only 8 last week, he became very ill suddenly and unexpectedly overnight, so both me & DS are still upset. This has to be the worst month ever for me financially and emotionally, I've had more outgoing than incoming, although the challenge money has helped (I didn't want to dip into it but I've had to with all these unexpected expenses) So the next few months I need to pull my finger out to get my holiday fund back on track.
Everyone is doing so well with thier totals :T Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Hi all, I have been reading lots since finding Martin's great e-mail but am finding using the forums confusing and keep getting lost. I've decided I must be thick as it all sounds good but I don't understand most of wot ur all going on about. I'm new to the internet and at work as a live-in worker most of the time so have no chance of getting to carboots etc and the rest of what you talk about is a total mistery to me. how do u put all the info about urselves up too, what am I doing wrong. This is only the 2nd time I've posted and must seem realy dim, Help!!!!!!!!!!

hi there and welcome to MSE and the £10 a day challenge. Why not have a go for the last few days then get started properly in July? The rules are there are no rules! Basically you set your own target (default is £10 a day so for July £310 but some people do £5 a day and some do £20 - this month I'm going for £30 but only because it happens to be going well!!). Then you keep track of all the extra stuff you earn over and above your normal income. What people include and when also varies from person to person - some will include savings on shopping with vouchers etc, others will only include extra cash. Some include when it is earned, some when it hits the bank account or pocket. Up to you to decide what will work best for you.

You've already been pointed to the Up your income posts and thread - lots of good ideas there - and reading through this thread to see what people have done. Mystery shopping works for many, matched betting if you are happy to try that, ebay/amazon if you have stuff to sell. Lots of ways of making cash.

Good luck and keep us posted. Oh - and to add a signature to tell us what you are doing click on the User CP link on the green bar on the forum menu then on the side menu choose "Edit Signature". You will then get a box where you can make your signature - save it and it will appear on the bottom of your posts as if by magic! :D Welcome aboard - you'll soon get the hang of it!

    Hi everyone,

I'm a bit late in on this months challenge but have already made £175 from ebay this month and I'm due £5 from quidco, so I have done £180 so far this month. I'll follow the thread to see if I can get any tips of other ways of amking money and will start properly next month:D

Am so sorry LMS to hear about your cat :( - big hugs for you and DS. It is awful losing pets we love, especially with the added shock when it is unexpected. Take care of yourself.

    Morning all!!

Well, I am having a bit of a change of tack.......I have been doing really well on this challenge since I started it at the beginning of the year - and want to capitalise on this, because I need to keep my focus going.

I also need (if I am to achieve my target Debt free date) I need to overpay my loan by £1000 a month......so common sense tells me that this should be achieved by my "make £10 a day" challenge money, that way I am half way there already!! (if that makes sense!)

So, my signature will read slightly differently, but I am def in on the challenge every month still as it forms an integral part of my ability to raise that £1000.

Also, my payday has changed, and now falls more or less in the middle of the month (I was paid today, for example) so I really need to work payday to payday so that I really know "where I am"

So, sorry if I am confusing things, but I hope you will all allow me to continue on this thread with my own made up rules :o

For me, the same things apply:
    • I won't count quidco/clicks/surveys etc until the money is in paypal/the bank.
    • I count mystery shops once I have submitted them.
    • I count b!ngo/games/matched bets once I have completed the necessary wagering requirements to be able to withdraw them.
    • I count amazon/ebay once posted, so I can count only pure profit
    • I am not counting "money off" vouchers for shopping etc, as I am only counting "real" money that I can use to overpay the loans.
Sorry for the ramble, but I needed to post it all to get it straight in my own mind!!

Hypno - course you can make up your own rules!! Good luck with those overpayments.

    Hi Little Miss Saver

Sorry to hear your news. We had to have one of our cats put down on Christmas Eve - very upsetting. We still miss him.

    Here's a hug because I think you need one.:grouphug:
